LOCATED ACROSS FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL |

Our teens are still not wearing their seatbelts
after repeated programs, guest speakers, and high impact events!
This is a huge problem at our high school. We are standing in
the school student parking lot when we conduct these surveys!

MRS. CLARK’S JANUARY 4-H MEETING
By: DaShaun Miller
Mrs. Clark’s 4-H club held its meeting
Thursday, January 14, 2009. Kolby Watts, president, presided at
the meeting. Our vice-president, Zack Baxley, led in the
American Pledge and the 4-H Pledge. The secretary, Jennifer
Lopez, called roll and read the minutes from our last meeting.
DaShaun Miller, our reporter, read a short devotion. Our
president, Kolby, reviewed our emblem. Our song leader, Jasmine
Creamer, led the club in singing “If Your Happy and You Know
It”. The following members presented demonstrations: Jeremy
Rogers, Darviana Harris, and Jasmine Creamer. Mrs. Donna then
presented our monthly program on CPA, the skating trip,
Valentine’s Day cards, and Camp Wasega. The class really
enjoyed the members’ demonstrations and Mrs. Donna’s
presentation.

IMPORTANT
NEWS ON THE ANNUAL SURVEY FOR THE APPLING
COUNTY SCHOOLS
The Appling County Schools and
Community Connections will send out an annual survey on
Wednesday, February 3, 2010 for parents to complete and
return by Friday, February 5, 2010 to their child’s
homeroom teacher. Parents will need to complete one survey per
household. The purpose of
this survey is to improve parental involvement opportunities and
community services in Appling County. We encourage and welcome
your honest feedback. Any ideas you have to help us make our
schools and community services more family friendly will be
appreciated. Thank you for your time and effort to assist the
Appling County School System and Appling County Community
Connections in attaining the most effective learning and living

Sunday February 14, and 11 am the same morning at
Melton's Chapel, before launching the revival itself
that evening at Melton's Chapel. There will be a

service at 7 pm on Feb. 14. Two more services will
follow, at 7 pm each night on Feb. 15 and 16. |

including 16 years as a full-time general evangelist. He
has preached in 32 annual conferences across the US.

March-April--will be a "flag month" for the council.
FNB Bank will be a
collection point for old flags needing retirement. We
will be asked to
retire them
Food Drive--the council is setting up a council wide
food drive. The troop and pack should get together and
get boxes to the various churches and such. We have done
this before and it has been very successful. We are
talking the month of February and such. If you would
know a scout and would like to help, feel free to
contact a scout or leader or just grab a box! Scout
meetings are Monday nights (except holidays
and no school days) at 7 behind the First Methodist
Church. |

The Need To Speed Will
Cost Drivers In January
Driving over 85 miles per hour will cost
motorists significantly more when a new "super speeder"
law goes into effect on January 1. Excessive speeds will
cost more than $200 over the currently prescribed fines
and possibly result in the revocation of drivers'
license should they forget to pay the fine. The new law,
introduced as House Bill 160 by Representative Jim Cole
(R-Forsyth) during the 2009 session of the Georgia
General Assembly, is designed to help reduce traumatic
automobile crashes by getting trough on high-risk
drivers. For more information on the new law, visit
