The Murphy 4-H Club
held its meeting Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Landon Lee,
President, presided at the meeting. Vice President, Nydia
Carter, led in the American Pledge and the 4-H Pledge.
Secretary, Tykira
Russell, called the roll and read the minutes from the
February meeting. Shanice Mobley, reporter, presented a
short devotion. President, Landon Lee, reviewed the emblem.
Natoria Williams, program chairman, introduced members who
gave presentations. Orrin Johnson presented a program on
rattlesnakes, Darius White presented a program on deer, and
Percius Westbrooks presented a program on
volcanoes..Following the demonstrations, Mrs. Donna
presented club members with Bulldog Bucks. The club was
excited to learn they were the Club of the Month for
February. Mrs. Donna discussed upcoming 4-H events,
including the Relay for Life Quarter Collection, Sailboat
Drive, Healthy LIfestryles Essay Contest, and the Tree City
Cake Competition.
With no further
business, the meeting was adjourned by the President, Landon
Lee.

March-April--will be a "flag month" for the council.
FNB Bank will be a
collection point for old flags needing retirement. We
will be asked to
retire them
Food Drive--the council is setting up a council wide
food drive. The troop and pack should get together and
get boxes to the various churches and such. We have done
this before and it has been very successful. We are
talking the month of February and such. If you would
know a scout and would like to help, feel free to
contact a scout or leader or just grab a box! Scout
meetings are Monday nights (except holidays
and no school days) at 7 behind the First Methodist
Church.
